Unit 3 - Quiz 2

2014-15 School Year


The second quiz of the Kinematics unit will be taken at the end of class on Thursday, December 18. The quiz will address the following objectives:

  1. The student should be able to use free fall concepts, the acceleration of gravity, and kinematic equations (provided) to solve a how fast or how far word problem.

  2. The student should understand and be able to use the CCW convention for vector direction to determine the direction of a vector.

  3. The student should understand that vectors are added by a head-to-tail method and be able to use such a method to graphically identify or represent the resultant of two or more vectors.

  4. The student should be able to use the Pythagorean theorem and SOH CAH TOA to determine the magnitude and direction of the sum or resultant of two or more perpendicular vectors.

  5. The student should be able to determine the components of an angled vector and use such components to determine the magnitude and direction of the sum or resultant of two or more non-perpendicular vectors.
